The Hawthorns, Car Park Entrance, Birmingham Road, West Bromwich B71 4LF, United Kingdom
The Hawthorns has undergone a fair bit of renovation work in the last few decades, so much so that it now stands proudly among other Premier League venues. There are swanky executive boxes and huge television screens which mark this as a properly modern stadium. The crowds have been a bit lacking of late, but with their recent run of form in the top half of the league, you can only assume it’s going to turn around. It has served West Bromwich Albion for its entire life (since 1900) and continues to do them well.
West Brom have been playing in the Hawthorns for over 100 years and boasts the feat of being the highest professional football ground in the country at 551 feet. The rowdy Smethwick end holds both home and away supporters so you can be sure of a lively atmosphere at most home games – and with West Brom looking into securing standing areas of the ground – you can be sure that the atmosphere will only get better. After the game be sure to indulge in some amazing Indian cuisine – some of the best the country has to offer.
